Young Manipuri Girl Dies by Suicide in Delhi

A young girl from Manipur’s Bishnupur district, allegedly died by suicide early Saturday morning in the Sunlight Colony area of Delhi. The deceased was residing in Delhi since October 2024.

Police received a call at 6:22 AM reporting the discovery of a body near Maharani Park, close to Gupta Store. Upon arrival, a team from Sunlight Colony Police Station found the young girl unresponsive.

According to reports, she had been staying in a rented house in Kilokri. She was working at a BPO company based in Noida.

Investigators reviewed the CCTV footage installed on the rooftop of the building, which showed the woman walking alone before jumping off. Authorities have secured the video for further investigation.

A joint team from the District Crime Unit examined the deceased’s room, where they recovered a suicide note from her mobile phone. The note revealed that she had been struggling with emotional distress, self-doubt, and mental exhaustion. She reportedly expressed feelings of failure, isolation, and a lack of purpose.

Police have informed the deceased’s family in Manipur. Postmortem will be conducted in the presence of the family members. The investigation is ongoing.
