In an interesting development, a researcher from the United States has located a US aircraft which crashed during the World War II in Arunachal Pradesh.
The aircraft with four crew and nine passengers before disappearing on 6th January, 1945, was on a routine flight to China’s Kunming from Assam’s Chabua for delivery of cargo.
According to reports, the researcher from United States, Clayton Kuhles, had to trek for as long as eight days to locate the remains of the aircraft back on 9th December 2021 on a snow clad mountain at Dapha Bum in Namdapha National Park. Clayton Kuhles along with local tribal hunters belonging to the Lisu community of Arunachal Pradesh had trekked for 8 days to reach the spot.
Clayton Kuhles runs a non-for-profit organisation, MIA Recoveries Incorporate, which has so far helped family members of atleast 27 US soldiers who had gone missing during the 2nd World War.
