With less than 24 hours left for the polls in Manipur, another instance of pre-poll violence has come to the fore from the state.
In the latest incident Janata Dal (United) candidate from Kshetrigao Assembly Constituency, Wahengbam Rojit Singh was shot by unidentified miscreants last night.
As per inputs, the incident happened around 11:30 PM, wherein the candidate reportedly received bullet injuries.
He is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Imphal.

It may be mentioned that on February 18, the father of NPP candidate L. Sanjoy Singh was shot at by unidentified assailants when he was out campaigning for his son at Yaripok Yambeem Leikai.
On February 24, at the Hmuia locality along the Tedim Road miscreants attacked a Suzuki Ignis vehicle and physically assaulted its driver who has been identified as Kham Guite.
Later, it was reported that the car belongs to Thanglalmuan, president of Siamsinpawlpi, a students’ union.
Manipur will go for polls in two phases. The first phase will be held tomorrow and the second on March 5.
The vote counting will take place on March 10.
