India defeated New Zealand by four wickets to claim the Champions Trophy title. Shami, though slightly expensive in the final, delivered a crucial breakthrough by dismissing a well-set Daryl Mitchell. Kohli, on the other hand, had a rare quiet outing in the final, scoring just one run before being trapped LBW by Michael Bracewell.
