Vatsal Nahata lands job at World Bank after 600 Emails, 80 Calls: Know his success story

Getting his dream job was not easy for Vatsal. In 2 months, he sent over 1500 connection requests on LinkedIn, wrote 600 emails, and got on 80 calls.
Vatsal Nahata, a 23-year-old Ivy League student from Delhi landed a job at the World Bank after a long journey.
Getting a job and reaching the top of a career field, these things are often related, but getting a job in an area that you are passionate about can be a reward in and of itself.
Similarly, getting a job at the World Bank was not easy for Vatsal. The Ivy League graduate wrote 600 cold emails and got on 80 odd cold calls in 2 months, and finally when he got four job offers he choose the World Bank.
It was more than a reward for Vatsal after he landed the job.

As it is said, hard work is never wasted and always pays off, and there is no shortcut to success, and Nahata proved it right.

How Vatsal Nahata got a job with the World Bank?
The 23-year-old took to LinkedIn and narrated his challenging career journey in a long post.
He start saying that he started applying for jobs in March 2020 as he was about to finish his graduation at Yale. Unfortunately, the timing for Nahata was not right.
Since the Covid-19 pandemic hit the world, companies were on a spree to fire employees during that period and hiring was not actively pursued by companies.
At one point, he began to wonder what the point of coming to Yale was if he could not even get a job here.
However, he was determined that returning to India was not an option.
In 2 months, he sent over 1500 connection requests on LinkedIn, wrote 600 emails, and 80 calls with all types of people, but he was getting nowhere.
Finally, after knocking on so many doors, his strategy paid off. By the first week of May, Vatsal Nahata had four job offers and he choose the World Bank.

Who is Vatsal Nahata ?
Vatsal is a Research Analyst at the International Monetary Fund, where he works on the Thailand, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Myanmar country teams.
He previously worked as a Consultant at the World Bank’s Education GP in Washington, DC.
He holds a Master’s degree in Development Economics from Yale University (Class of 2020) and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Delhi’s Shri Ram College of Commerce (Class of 2018).

His primary research interests are in Development Economics, Macroeconomics, and related policies. He also enjoys coding in Python and R, as well as their statistical/machine learning applications.
