Unique protest: PAJSC observes Black Day by cutting a cake

Protestors participated in a cake cutting ceremony to vent their anger against the 60 MLAs as well as both the MPs for their alleged failure in resolving the issue.
It was an unique protest early today morning in Itanagar as members of PAJSC (Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee) observed Black Day today by cutting a cake to vent their anger against the 60 MLAs as well as both the MPs for their alleged failure in resolving their issues.

A year has passed by since the PAJSC was assured by Chief Minister Pema Khandu that the government would resolve the APPSC paper leak issue on the basis of the pressure group’s 13-point charter of demands.
However, the PAJSC feels that the government has not done enough to resolve the matter. Irked over the alleged delay by the government in finding a solution to it’s 13-point charter of demands, the PAJSC today observed Black Day as a mark of protest.

Beginning today, the protest will conclude on February 20.

The PAJSC also observed ‘Pushtak Jalao Andolan’ wherein books pertaining to competitive exams were set on fire.

PAJSC member Techi Rana said,”We are observing Black Day today. On this very day, exactly a year ago (February 18, 2023) CM Khandu had made a historic commitment, assurance regarding the 13-point charter of demands put forward by the PAJSC regarding the APPSC paper leak case.
A year has passed by, but it is far from being resolved, since assurance was made regarding time bound action.
But the narrative spread by the political bureau and the administration is that the issue has been resolved. But we are the direct stakeholders, and know very well that the issue has not been resolved yet. To recognize the failure of the government we have recognized February 18 as a Black Day. It will continue for the next 2 days.
We have Statehood Day on February 20. Nothing will happen if the real issues are not resolved and only Statehood Day is celebrated. The internal issues in a family must be resolved first. Hence we have decided to boycott the Statehood Day celebrations this year.”

On December 4, the Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC) today submitted another representation to Chief Minister Pema Khandu with a detailed overview of the fulfilment of the 13 points charter of demands surrounding the APPSC paper leak scam and urged the State government to fulfil the unaddressed and related points within December 12, 2023.
It may be mentioned that the PAJSC has been demanding to declare null and void the APPSC exams from 2014-2022, in which alleged malpractices were detected.
