ULFA-I cadres open indiscriminate firing in Tinsukia, kills 5

As many as five people were reportedly killed in an incident of indiscriminate firing carried out by ULFA-Independent cadres at Kherbari village under Dhola Police Station in Assam’s Tinsukia district.

As many as five people were reportedly killed in an incident of indiscriminate firing carried out by ULFA-Independent cadres at Kherbari village under Dhola Police Station in Assam’s Tinsukia district.

It was around 8 on Thursday evening, when a group of ULFA-Independent cadres indiscriminately opened fire killing as many as 5 person. The death toll is also expected to rise.

Top Assam Police sources have confirmed Northeast Live that the attack was carried out by an ULFA-Independent Hit Squad.

The cadres who carried out the incident managed to flee the site of incident unchallenged.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has directed Assam DGP Kuladhar Saikia and Additional DGP Mukesh Agarwal to rush to the spot.

Sonowal has also directed Assam Ministers Keshav Mahanta and Tapan Gogoi to move to the spot immediately.

Meanwhile, the deceased persons have been identified as Shyamal Biswas, Ananta Biswas, Abhinash Biswas, Dhananjay Namshrudh and Shubhal Das.
