Two cadres of the NSCN (K-YA) were killed during an intense operation carried out by Security Forces near a remote location along the Indo-Myanmar border.

According to a statement released by the outfit, the deceased have been identified as Self-Styled Sergeant Major Nyaklung and Self-Styled Lance Corporal Neyung Aung.

The encounter broke out on Thursday when security forces launched a patrol following specific intelligence about the movement of militants near the Indo-Myanmar border.

While traversing the dense forest, the patrol party noticed the movement of unidentified individuals and challenged them. In response, the patrol came under heavy and indiscriminate fire from high-calibre weapons, which was effectively retaliated by the security forces.
