TSF to Launch ‘Clean Illegal Immigrants Drive-Out Mission’ to Protect Indigenous Rights in Tripura

TSF demanded that the state administration swiftly identify, verify, and deport all illegal immigrants.

The Twipra Students’ Federation (TSF) has announced that it will soon launch a peaceful, democratic campaign called the Clean Illegal Immigrants Drive-Out Mission to remove illegal Bangladeshi immigrants from Tripura. This move follows a recent directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) dated May 19, which instructs all state governments, including Tripura, to identify and deport illegal immigrants within 30 days.

“We are preparing to launch the Clean Illegal Immigrants Drive-Out Mission in affected regions. This mission will be peaceful and carried out with the support of local communities,” TSF said in a press release.

TSF urged the Tripura government to treat the issue with utmost seriousness. “Despite several arrests, the illegal influx continues to rise. The government must act without delay,” the statement read.

The student body said it has received credible reports of illegal immigrants settling in multiple districts, including Gomati, Dhalai, Sepahijala, South Tripura, West Tripura, and North Tripura. “These widespread and unauthorized settlements pose a serious threat to the demographic balance, cultural identity, land rights, and security of the indigenous people of Tripura,” the release said.

Calling for immediate and strict enforcement of the MHA directive, TSF demanded that the state administration swiftly identify, verify, and deport all illegal immigrants.

“This is not just a political or administrative issue—it is about the survival of our people. We urge students, youth, civil society, and concerned citizens to unite and raise their voices,” TSF added.
