Tripura Flood: TTAADC to join flood relief operations, says Pradyot Kishore Debbarma

Indian Air Force's Mi-17 and ALH helicopters continue relentless efforts in Tripura flood relief operations, with NDRF personnel inducted into disaster-struck areas.
TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma has informed that the Tripura Government has agreed to make the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) a part of the flood relief operations.
Pradyot said that the development comes after his meeting with Chief Minister Manik Saha.
Soon after the development, Pradyot Kishore Debbarma has directed all zonal chairmans and sub zonal chairman to contact and coordinate with the respective DM’s of the area.
Meanwhile, Indian Air Force’s Mi-17 and ALH helicopters continue relentless efforts in Tripura flood relief operations, with NDRF personnel inducted into disaster-struck areas.
The Indian Air Force said on Saturday said, “Operating from Agartala, the helicopters air-dropped over 4,000 food packets to stranded locals in Rangamati, Jatanbari, Udaipur, Paschim Malbasa, Shankar Pali, and nearby areas. A total of 28 tons of relief material has been airlifted till now for flood-affected.”
Chief Minister Manik Saha is scheduled to chair an all-party meeting today to review the ongoing flood situation in the state.
CM Saha addressed the ongoing flood crisis in the state, assuring the citizens that the situation is under control. He also expressed gratitude for the central government’s support and outlined measures being taken to manage the disaster.
The all-party meeting will be held to discuss further steps and strategies to address the situation.
The Chief Minister highlighted the arrangements in the relief camps and also acknowledged the support from various NGOs aiding in the relief operations. The Chief Minister assured that there is an adequate stock of essential supplies, including food, water, petrol, and diesel, and emphasized that there is no cause for concern at this time.
The death toll due to the devastating floods in Tripura has risen to 25, as per inputs filed till yesterday. Nearly 1 lakh people have been displaced due to the floods and are presently taking shelter in 520 relief camps set up across the state. Highest death toll of 15 has been reported from the South Tripura district.
Two Tripura State Rifles jawans lost their lives while saving flood-hit persons in the state that has been experiencing rampant rains.
