Tripura East MP Kriti Devi Debbarman Allocates Rs 1 Cr from MPLADS Fund for Flood Relief and Restoration in State

These funds will be directed to the District Magistrates (DMs) to support affected families and restore the impacted areas.
Tripura East (ST) Lok Sabha MP Kriti Devi Debbarman has allocated Rs 1 crore from her Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) fund for the ongoing flood relief and restoration work in the state.
The substantial funds will be directed to the District Magistrates (DMs) to address the urgent needs of people affected by the flooding, immediate relief measures, including the provision of essential supplies and infrastructure repairs etc.
“The recent devastating floods have caused serious damages in several areas of Tripura East Lok Sabha Constituency, and hence, I am allocating 1 (one) Crore Rupees from my Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) Fund for the ongoing flood relief and restoration works. These funds will be directed to the District Magistrates (DMs) to support affected families and restore the impacted areas. I am in constant touch with all the officials involved in the relief works, and right now our collective priority is to ensure that the relief reaches those in need promptly and effectively,” MP Kriti Devi Debbarman tweeted.

Tripura is grappling with one of the worst floods in 67 years since 1956. At least 26 people died due to the floods while two are missing.
Over 1,00,000 people across all eight districts of the state are currently living in the 520 relief camps and as many as 17 lakh people have been affected. Chief Minister Manik Saha pegged the losses at a staggering Rs 15,000 crore.
Earlier, CM Saha has announced Rs 4 lakh as an ex-gratia assistance to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 2.5 lakh to those injured.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah also assured full support to the Tripura government in overcoming the challenges posed aftermath due to the devastating floods and landslides.
Meanwhile, the Inter-Ministerial Central team led by Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, B.C. Joshi is scheduled to visit Tripura today to take stock of the situation in the wake of disastrous floods in the state.
