Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday instructed all District Magistrates (DMs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) to visit their respective areas every month and take prompt steps to address public grievances and development-related issues.
Dr. Manik Saha chaired a comprehensive review meeting through video conference from the State Secretariat, where he stressed the importance of proactive field visits. He asked district officials to coordinate with officers from various departments, assess ground realities, and take quick corrective action.
“The DMs and SPs must visit the areas every month along with other district-level officers and take initiative to solve the problems of the people,” said Dr. Saha, who also holds the Home portfolio.
He reviewed the progress of ongoing development works, the law and order situation, and public complaints in all eight districts.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to give top priority to solving issues related to health, drinking water, education, roads, and civic amenities.
Expressing serious concern over the rising drug menace, Dr. Saha asked all SPs to intensify their crackdown on drug trafficking. He instructed them to identify the vulnerable areas, prepare a list of people involved in illegal drug activities, and take strict legal action against them.
He also directed various departments to take proper steps for managing traffic, controlling mosquitoes, and ensuring uninterrupted drinking water supply in Agartala.
Top officials, including Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, CM’s Secretary Apurba Roy, ICA Special Secretary Debapriya Bardhan, and senior engineers from various departments, also attended the meeting.
