Tragic: 4 children drown to death in Manipur

The 4 children aged between 4 to 9 years, went for washing in the river in the absence of their parents at around 2 :pm yesterday.

In a tragic incident, four children aged between 4 to 9 years, died on Tuesday after drowning in the Tuitha river in Churachandpur, Manipur.

The children were staying at a relief camp in Tuibong area of Churachandpur.

The bodies were fished out this morning after a search since yesterday evening.

According to sources, the four children went for washing in the river in the absence of their parents at around 2 :pm yesterday.

Later when they did not return home, their parents started a search operation with the help of local members.

The search continued whole night. Two bodies were recovered today at 6 am and the other two bodies were found 30 minutes later.
