Tipra Motha leader and Leader of Opposition in the Tripura Assembly, Animesh Debbarma has served an ultimatum to Manik Saha-led BJP government in the state asking the state government to address the lack of basic amenities like bad road conditions, power and water shortage across the state but particularly in places like Asharamabari in Khowai district.

Citing that Tripura is plagued by deteriorating road conditions, power shortages, and a serious drinking water crisis, he has served the ultimatum of one month to the state government to resolve those issues.

The TIPRA Motha leader yesterday visited various areas in Asharambari and adjoining areas and interacted with the locals to pinpoint their issues.

After that, he held a meeting with the District Magistrate of Khowai in the presence of senior district-level officials of other line departments wherein the MLA raised several concerns including the crisis of clean drinking water beside quality education, electrification and road connectivity before the Magistrate.

While Debbarma’s biggest concern is the shortage of safe and clean drinking water, he said that despite being in the Opposition, the party shall bring the issues into the notice of the government and also give time to address the same.

“Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha always asked to show the Government the areas where to work. Being a responsible citizen of India we will bring the issues into the notice of the government,” said Debbarma.

The MLA said that he had submitted the memorandum to the DM in writing urging to resolve the issues and shall wait for a month to see how the government will respond. Debbarma added that their reaction will depend on the response of the government.
