Tipra Motha Founder Pradyot’s Stern Warning to Party MLAs: No Tickets For Those Who Work For Self Gain

He also criticised Opposition Leader Jitendra Chowdhury, also CPIM state secretary, for keeping party and political agenda above the community.
Are Tipra Motha MLAs working for themselves and filling their pockets instead of working for the people? If party founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma’s stern warning is any indication, then all is not well with the MLAs and other elected representatives of the party.
In a sharp rebuke, Pradyot Debbarma has pulled up party MLAs, Ministers, Executive Members, and members of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) for being busy in self-gain, neglecting their duties towards the public and community who had elected them with his support.
The royal scion of Tripura took to social media and warned them that all such MLAs and elected representatives who are busy working for self gain might end up not getting party tickets next time. “If I refuse you tickets, then will have nothing left”.
He further called for unity between Tipra Motha and the Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT), urging both tribal parties and alliance partners of the ruling BJP to stand together in future elections and fight for the rights and development of indigenous communities.
Debbarma stressed the need to raise voices against corruption, injustice, and communal violence, which have increasingly affected the state despite being ruling partner.
He also criticised Opposition Leader Jitendra Chowdhury, CPIM state secretary, for keeping party and political agenda above the community.
The Village Council election will be held by the end of the year and the second meeting regarding the Tipra Accord is scheduled for next month in New Delhi.
Debbarma revealed that this meeting would include representatives from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Tripura Government, Tipra Motha, and for the first time, the TTAADC.
The Motha founder assured his supporters that he would not compromise on the party’s core demands for the socio-economic, cultural, and political rights of the tribal communities.
Among the demands is an increase in the number of reserved seats for Scheduled Tribes (ST) in Tripura’s 60-member Assembly from 20 to 25, direct funding to the TTAADC with more power, the introduction of the Roman script for the Kokborok language, and the passage of the 125th Constitutional Amendment in Parliament.
He said that there are several other demands including central tribal university, AIMS like hospital etc.
Pradyot Kishore Debbarma’s strong statements reflect his determination to ensure accountability within his party and to secure long-lasting benefits for the indigenous population of Tripura.
