Techi Doria, first cricketer from Arunachal to play for English club

Doria, known for his proficiency with both the bat and the bowl, has been in exceptional form in the recent Ranji Trophy matches.

In a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh, history has been made as Techi Doria is set to become the first cricketer from Arunachal Pradesh to play for an English club.

Doria has signed to play for Wolverhampton Cricket Club ahead of the 2024 Birmingham and District Premier League campaign.

Doria, known for his proficiency with both the bat and the bowl, has been in exceptional form in the recent Ranji Trophy matches.

Accumulating an impressive total of 411 runs at an average of 58.71 in his last four outings, Doria has consistently delivered stellar performances with the bat. His notable knocks include half-centuries against Sikkim, Mizoram, Hyderabad, and Nagaland.

In addition to his batting prowess, Doria has also proven to be a valuable asset with the ball as his leg-spin bowling has claimed crucial wickets for his team.

Doria, a resident of Nyopang village under Papum Pare district, made his first-class debut for Arunachal Pradesh in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy on 1 November 2018. He made his Twenty20 debut for Arunachal Pradesh in the 2018–19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on 21 February 2019.
