Family members of Tumi Gangkak has cried foul over the death of suspended APPSC under secretary, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances yesterday. According to the family members of Gangkak, he was summoned by the CBI following which he went missing.
Speaking to the media, the deceased APPSC official’s nephew alleged that there is some kind of foul play behind the entire incident.
Soon after lodging an FIR at the Chimpu police station, the kin of the deceased said,”we found his car near the Ganga lake and subsequently we found his boy under very unnatural condition and mysterious circumstances.”
The nephew of the deceased alleged that cut marks were clearly visible in the body for which they are finding it hard to believe that it is a purported case of suicide. He said,”Our family clearly believes that it is not a natural death . There were cut marks in his feet, hands and the place is such that where he cannot be hanged. We think that there is some kind of foul play into this.”
Meanwhile, the family members of Tumi Gangkak had sought to file an FIR alleging it to be a case of murder, but as per the proceedings a case has been registered under relevant sections of unnatural death.
In this regard, Tumi’s nephew said,”We wanted that the case should be registered as a murder case, but SDPO Sir convinced us that they will go as per the legalities and the case will initially be registered as an unnatural death case, post mortem will be done today, and if any kind of evidence is found the case will be converted to a murder case.”
Tumi Gangkak’s nephew further added,”First of all the incident is unfortunate, unexpected. We were all searching for him. We received a call from the inspector, saying that he (Tumi Gangkak) has to immediately appear at the CBI office. After that he left and never came back. We (family members) searched for him. But we could not locate him anywhere. We then again asked the cop who had called him (Tumi Gangkak) and informed that our uncle is nowhere to be found. The police official than said that he (Tumi Gangkak) had not arrived. After that we again began searching for him.”
Meanwhile, body of Tumi Gangkak has been taken to TRIHMS for post-mortem. Now, it will be interesting to see as to what the post-mortem report reveals. As per inputs, the post-mortem reports will come out on Monday.
It may be mentioned that Tumi Gangkak, under-secretary of APPSC was found hanging from a tree in Poma Village in Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh.
