Former Mahila Congress Chief Sushmita Dev who recently joined the Trinamool Congress on Thursday said the change in the current political scenario prompted her to make the move.
Dev arrived at her home constituency in Silchar on Thursday. She was accorded a warm welcome, following her arrival at the airport.
Speaking to Northeast Live upon arrival in Silchar post joining the Trinamool Congress, Dev said she would soon address a press conference to make clear the reason behind quitting the grand old party.
The former Silchar MP added that she is yet to be briefed about her role in the TMC even as she questioned those speculating over her possible new role especially in poll-bound Tripura.
On Monday, the former All India Mahila Congress Chief and ex-Silchar MP Sushmita Dev tendered her resignation from her post and subsequently joined TMC in Kolkata.
