So Far 22 Arrested in Assam for Supporting Pahalgam Terror Attack

The accused are charged with promoting the cause of Pakistan through their social media posts.
Continuing its crackdown against traitors for defending Pakistan on Indian soil, following the deadly terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22 that left 28 dead, Assam Police have so far arrested a total of 22 people for posting pro-Pakistan and anti-national comments on social media.
Those arrested include politicians, students, leaders and a woman. The accused are charged with promoting the cause of Pakistan through their social media posts.
The first arrest came on April 25, when Aminul Islam, an MLA of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) from Dhing constituency was arrested by the Assam Police Crime Branch after his highly controversial remarks alleging the involvement of the central government in recent and past terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. He was sent to police custody for 4 days on April 26.
The other arrests in Assam till Sunday include-Normal Hoque from Goalpara, Seikh Saroj from Baksa, Firajul Islam from Dhubri, Jarif Ali from Barpeta, Imran Hussain alias Komor Uddin from Cachar, Dadhichi Dimple alias Dimple Bora from Golaghat, Tahib Ali arrested from Baksa, Congress leader Bimal Mahato from Udalguri, Suman Mazumdar alias Bulbul Alam Majumdar from Hailakandi, Mashud Azhar from Nagaon, Baktar Hussain Barbhuiyan and Mohammad Imran Hussain Borbhuyan from Cachar, Mustak Ahmed alias Sahel from Karimganj, Anil Bania, District Secretary of the Satra Mukti Sangram Parishad from Barpeta, Jabir Hussain of Hailakandi, A.K. Bahauddin, a student from the Department of Computer Science at Assam University in Silchar, Javed Mazumder from Silchar, Mahahar Mia alias Mujihirul Islam of Morigaon, Sahil Ali of Sivasagar.
Earlier, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has issued a stern warning to elements acting against national interest and said, “I want to warn everyone and all anti-India forces, any attempt to support Pakistan, whether directly or indirectly, from Assam will not be tolerated. I have directed Assam Police to take stringent action against such acts.”
The Assam government continues to monitor and take firm action against activities that pose a threat to national integrity and unity.
