Sikkim: Two Sentenced to 10 Years Imprisonment and Rs 1 Lakh Fine in Drug Trafficking Case

The verdict was announced following convictions in two separate drug trafficking cases.
In a major crackdown on drug trafficking under the “Mission Nasha Mukt Sikkim” campaign, the Special Judge under the Sikkim Anti-Drugs Act (SADA) 2006 in Gangtok has sentenced two individuals to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 1 lakh each.
The verdict was announced following convictions in two separate drug trafficking cases.
Speaking to media, SP Gangtok, Mahendra Subba said that the convicts Guddu Kumar Gupta of Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, and Bikram Sharma of Kalimpong were found guilty of smuggling contraband substances in different incidents.
Guddu Kumar Gupta was arrested in 2020 from the Lower Lingdum area with a significant quantity of illegal narcotics.
Bikram Sharma was arrested in 2021 near Tadong College in Gangtok for his involvement in drug smuggling activities.
