Sikkim Governor’s House will be opened for the public from January 1 to offer the public a glimpse of the grandeur, architectural beauty and the well rich heritage of the Raj Bhavan complex.

A special event to mark the formal opening of Raj Bhavan for tourists and the public was organized by the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department at Old Raj Bhavan in Gangtok on Monday.

The programme was graced by Governor Ganga Prasad and Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang along with other dignitaries.

Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang extended gratitude to the Governor for envisioning the development of the tourism sector in the State through his historical decision of opening the Raj Bhavan for the public and tourists.

The Chief Minister Tamang, stated that the opening of the Raj Bhavan will be an additional asset for attracting both tourists and the locals, thereby boosting tourism in the State.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Shri Ganga Prasad said that with the opening of the heritage building of Raj Bhavan for public viewing, people can now revel in the splendorous beauty and architecture of the building.
