The ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha has set up three separate committees to intensively work towards resolving 3 pending issues of the state.
The decision to form the three committees was taken at a meeting of the SKM Legislature Party chaired by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Tuesday.
Speaking to Northeast Live, SKM Spokesperson and Chief Minister’s Political Secretary, Jacob Khaling, has informed that these three committees will look after the Assembly seat reservation for Limboo-Tamang communities, according to the tribal status for the 12 left-out communities, and bring the 17th Karmapa Lama to Sikkim.
Regarding the committees formed, the SKM Spokesperson has informed that Lok Sabha MP Indra Hang Subba shall be heading the committee on Limboo-Tamang Assembly seat demand, the members of which are to be appointed expeditiously after which a meeting will be held with the Chief Minister.
The committee would then maintain contact with the Centre for reaching the seat issue to its conclusion.

After finalisation of the committee members, a meeting with the Chief Minister will be convened which will eventually convey it to the Centre to reach the demand to its conclusion.
Meanwhile, Khaling also mentioned that funds for bringing back the Karmapa Lama, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, to Sikkim had already been allocated in the last state budget but could not be materialised due to the pandemic.
