Employers will face a fine of Rs 2,500 per unregistered worker, and workers must carry their Labour ID cards for inspections.

The Sikkim government has made labour card registration mandatory for all workers in hotels, shops, and construction sites under the Labour Regulations of Employment Conditions of Services 2021.

In a press conference, Labour Secretary Ragul K announced that workers must register at Rangpo check posts or district labour offices. Employers will face a fine of Rs 2,500 per unregistered worker, and workers must carry their Labour ID cards for inspections.
