Though Manipur Team was well decorated by all the 15 National players, Sikkim fought bravely and could stop Manipur with a goalless Draw in the league.

In the Knockout round, Sikkim entered the Final through a wonderful win against Arunachal by 3:0 goals.

There was an exciting ambiance for the Final Match, undoubtedly, Manipur was the strong contender for the title, but the audience was expecting a lot from Sikkim also.

Unfortunately, the main game-maker player of the Sikkim Team, Sujana Rai (5) was not the part of Final squad as she was booked with Two yellow cards in the league round.

The battle was on at full high, but in 38 minutes Sikkim had their own Goal due to miss calculated understanding between defenders and goalkeepers.

In the 81 minutes of the second half, Manipur scored a winning goal, and Sikkim received the same kind of goal due to miss understanding between the last defending player and the keeper.

Undoubtedly, Sikkim fought bravely and performed good footballing throughout the tournament, but team Manipur performed like a champion and won the championship by 2:0 goals.

Definitely, it was a fruitful journey with a Runners-up position for team Sikkim, especially after two dark years of corona Lockdown. Undoubtedly, it was great exposure for the team and players.

Sikkim Football Association congratulates the Team and wishes good luck for the future upcoming tournament.
