In a major announcement, the Sikkim government has announced health insurance scheme worth Rs 10 lakh for government employees under a new scheme titled ‘Suwasthya Yojana’.
The announcement was made by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Saturday during the inaugural ceremony of the new Annexure school building and Pema Rinzing Lama Football Academy in the West District of Sikkim.
The ‘Suwasthya Yojana’ health insurance scheme will cover all employees of the Sikkim government and is set to start from April 1.
Beneficiaries will now be able to treat themselves and their families in the top 400 hospitals across the country. Moreover, the scheme would also cover kidney transplant as well.
