Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang Turns 57, PM Modi and Other Leaders Extend Wishes

Before joining politics, Tamang worked as a teacher in a state-run school after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang is celebrating his 57th birthday today. 

Wishes are pouring in. Among the first to wish him were Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his greetings on X wrote, “My greetings to the Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang Golay Ji on his birthday. May Almighty bless him with a long and healthy life. @PSTamangGolay

Amit Shah wrote on X, “May you always remain blessed with good health to continue serving the people.”

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in his greetings on X wrote, “Birthday greetings to the Chief Minister of Sikkim Shri @PSTamangGolay Ji. 💐 May you be blessed with good health and a long life.”

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote on X, “Best wishes to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri @PSTamangGolay ji on his birthday. He is a hands-on leader, working tirelessly for the welfare and development of Sikkim. Prayers to Maa Kamakhya and Srimanta Sankardev for his long and healthy life.”

UP CM Yogi Adityanath in his greetings on X wrote, “Warm birthday wishes to the Hon. CM of Sikkim, Shri @PSTamangGolay Ji! May Prabhu Shri Ram bless you with a long, healthy, and prosperous life.”

Born on February 5, 1968, in Soreng, West Sikkim, to Dhanmaya Tamang and Kalu Singh Tamang, he has been at the forefront of the state’s leadership since  2019.

Before joining politics, Tamang worked as a teacher in a state-run school after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Darjeeling Government College in 1988. His political journey began in 1994 when he was elected as an MLA from Chakung.
