Sexual Harassment Row Rocks Assam University: Social Work Students Accuse Assistant Professor, Demand Action

A major controversy has erupted at Assam University after several students from the Department of Social Work accused an assistant professor of sexual harassment, intimidation, and abuse of power.
According to an FIR submitted at the Assam University Police Outpost on May 4, the students alleged that the assistant professor repeatedly engaged in inappropriate behavior. The students claimed that he made sexually explicit and defamatory remarks, threatened to ruin their academic careers, and pressured them into supporting him falsely.
The complainants stated that the professor exploited his academic position to humiliate and manipulate them during classroom interactions and personal conversations. They have assured the police that they are ready to submit solid evidence to support their allegations. The evidence includes mobile recordings, call logs, screenshots, and testimonies from witnesses.
The Officer-in-Charge of the university police outpost confirmed that he had received the complaint. The students have demanded the immediate registration of an FIR and strong action against the accused.
Soon after filing the complaint, the students gathered outside the police station and staged a protest. They shouted slogans and held placards, urging the university administration to take swift action against the assistant professor.
