The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), Nagaland NET Qualified Forum (NNQF), and Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) opposing the regularisation of 147 Contractual Assistant Professors and librarians in Nagaland have rejected the Cabinet’s decision to put the absorption on hold and have given a three-day deadline to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to respond.
They have also rejected the 5-member committee set up to review the issue and demanded removal of the 147 Assistant Professors and librarians.
Now the protesting organisations have said that they would put their agitation on hold for 3 days until April 24 as they have given a 3-day deadline to CM Rio to respond.
The Nagaland Cabinet had held an emergency meeting yesterday evening to take up the NSF, NNQF and CTAN’s demand to roll back its earlier decision to regularise the 147 Assistant Professors and librarians hired on contractual basis.
The Cabinet in its meeting, had decided to keep the regularisation decision on hold and announced the setting up of a 5-member committee under Agriculture Production Commissioner Wezope Kenye to review the issue and submit a report in two months.
