Meghalaya police have also written to Instagram seeking details about a social media blogger who uploaded two videos related to the case.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Meghalaya Police probing the murder case of Raja Raghuvanshi is actively searching for a second mobile phone belonging to prime accused Sonam Raghuvanshi. Police believes that the second phone of Sonam holds crucial information which will be useful to solve the murder mystery.
Talking to Northeast Live, East Khasi Hills SP, Vivek Syeim said that perhaps the phone has been moved from its original location. Police suspect the phone—along with jewellery and other personal items—was shifted by somebody. The police team which is in Indore, Madhya Pradesh is trying to ascertain who has taken it.
Syiem said, “The team is still looking for the second phone out there. We believe that second phone is probably with the jewellery and other items which Sonam has left behind, and we were hoping that when the team goes there… the place was locked, so the items of Sonam would be there. But it appears that it has been shifted from there by somebody, and the team is out there to ascertain who has taken it and where all these items are.”
Syeim further said that the police team questioned Sonam’s brother, Govind Raghuvanshi and mother and have also got clues about the driver who took Sonam to Uttar Pradesh. “They have already done questioning of Govind Raghuvanshi out there, Govind ‘s mother and they have ascertained who the driver was who took Sonam to Uttar Pradesh”, said Syeim
Meanwhile, Meghalaya police have also written to Instagram seeking details about a social media blogger who uploaded two videos related to the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case. One video shows Raja with his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, while another reportedly features three other accused individuals at Nongriat. The move comes after the blogger did not cooperate with Meghalaya Police in the probe.
All the 5 accused were produced before court on Thursday after their 8 day police remand ended. While 3 accused were sent to judicial custody, the police remand of Sonam Raghuvanshi and Raj Kuswaha was extended for 2 days.
