Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Case: 3 More Accused-Silome James, Lokendra and Balbir Arrested and Brought to Shillong

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Meghalaya Police investigating the murder case of Raja Raghuvanshi on Thursday brought three newly arrested accused from Indore to Shillong for further interrogation. They will to be produced before the court later in the evening.
Among those arrested is Lokendra Singh Tomar, a resident of Gwalior and the landlord of the Dewas Naka flat where the prime accused, Sonam, had been hiding. Tomar was apprehended by Gwalior Police following a formal request by the SIT.

Two other individuals taken into custody are Silome James, a property dealer, and Balbir Ahirbar, a security guard-cum-carpenter from Ashok Nagar district in Madhya Pradesh. The arrests mark a significant step in the ongoing multi-state investigation into the high-profile murder that has captured public attention.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Vivek Syiem on Wednesday said that acting on inputs provided by accused Silome James, investigators recovered a country-made pistol along with two magazines and two .32 calibre bullets from a stream. Police also recovered Rs 50,000 cash which James reportedly took from a laptop bag of Raja Raghuvanshibelonged to belonging to Raja Raghuvanshi. The cash was recovered from a Hyundai I-10 car bearing registration number MP-09-WG-2352 which belonged to James.

The SIT is intensifying its probe into the network behind the murder and is expected to make further progress in the coming days.

With these additional three arrests, the number of accused persons arrested so far in the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case has gone up to 8. Earlier, Police arrested Prime accused Sonam Raghuvanshi, her lover Raj Kuswaha and three assailants Anand Singh Kurmi, Akash Rajput, and Vishal Singh Chauhan. After police remand, they were sent to 13 day judicial custody.
