Polling personnel reach their destinations safely in Kangpokpi

The first phase of the dispersal of polling personnel commenced at Brig. M. Thomas Ground Kangpokpi town at 7:00 a.m
The Northeastern state of Manipur gears up for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections scheduled to be held on April 19.
Amidst the shutdown of government offices in Kangpokpi Town and the directive of Kuki apex body to abstain from voting, the first phase of dispersal of polling personnel for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls in Kangpokpi was successfully conducted on Wednesday.
The first phase of the dispersal of polling personnel commenced at Brig. M. Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi town at 7:00 a.m. this morning, under the guidance of the District Election Officer, Mahesh Chaudhari, who is also the Deputy Commissioner of Kangpokpi and Manoj Prabhakar, the District Superintendent of Police, Kangpokpi.
The dispersal of polling personnel for the second phase will be held on Thursday from the same venue.
Kangpokpi has a total electorate of 1,03,563 people, with 51,184 male voters and 52,378 female voters among three assembly constituencies: Saikul, Kangpokpi, and Saitu.
The district also has 166polling stations, including 24 special polling stations allocated for displaced voters, which is the highest in number in the state.
While out of 166 polling stations, 77 polling stations are designated as “All Women Managed Polling Stations”
Furthermore, 46/10 Thangkanphai (A), 50/5 Kangpokpi (C), and 51/25 N. Songlung Polling Stations have been designated as Model Polling Stations while 50/7 L. Songtun Polling Station is designated as PwD Managed Polling Stations.
