In an interview to the news agency ANI, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on a variety of issues ranging from surgical strikes to demonetisation and from the Ram temple issue to that of triple talaq and Sabarimala protests.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his first interview of the year, spoke about the four and half year regime of BJP in the country.

The BJP is confident of doing well in the upcoming 2019 general election despite the party’s recent losses in state polls. There is no reason for low morale in the BJP. The BJP has confidence in the people and the people have confidence in the BJP, said the Prime Minister.

Clearing the air on note ban, the Prime Minister said, demonetisation was necessary to clean the system, it was not a sudden decision, government had warned people a year before, if they had unaccounted for money they should deposit it.

Prime Minister Modi spoke on the recent loan waiver on farmers debts that the Congress did after coming to power in Madhya Pradesh. Speaking on the matter, the Prime Minister said the waiver is misleading and is nothing more than a ‘lollipop’ or a populist move.

PM Modi also expressed that there should be no undue politics over the Triple Talaq Bill. The Prime Minister stated that the bill has been brought to the parliament after the Supreme Court cleared it. He further said that they are committed to clearing the bill only through proper constitutional process.

He also cleared the air about former RBI Governor Urjit Patel’s resignation. The Prime Minister said that there was no political pressure and it was Patel himself who wanted to resign due to his personal reasons.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi further said that the the 2019 elections will be about the people and who they want to be in power. He also took a dig at the Congress party and said that the Congress is a thought, a culture and he wants to get rid the country from this culture.

Meanwhile, reactions have started to pour in soon after this big interview of Prime Minister Modi. The Congress has hit back at Prime Minister Modi alleging that the Prime Minister has destroyed the Country in the past 55 months.
