PM Narendra Modi to Visit Sikkim on May 29 to Attend 50th Statehood Day Celebrations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the 50th Statehood Day Celebrations of the Himalayan state of Sikkim on May 29.
Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang today extended a formal invitation on behalf of the people of the state Sikkim to the Prime Minister, requesting his presence at the grand Statehood Day celebrations.
The Prime Minister has graciously accepted the invitation and has conveyed his willingness to visit Sikkim on May 29, 2025, to join in commemorating this historic milestone, officials said.
The Chief Minister also congratulated Prime Minister Modi on the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, hailing it as a landmark moment in India’s fight against terrorism. He praised the mission for boosting national pride and reaffirming the country’s strength and global standing.
Chief Minister Tamang expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister for sparing his valuable time and for his unwavering support and encouragement to the people of Sikkim.
The visit of the Prime Minister will be a highlight of the year-long Statehood Day celebrations, and preparations are underway across the state to extend a grand and heartfelt welcome to the nation’s leader.
