Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed his first-ever election rally in Mizoram ahead of the November 28 polls.
PM Modi made the ruling Congress his primary target of attack accusing the Lal Thanhawla government of lethargy and taking Mizoram back, by not ushering in development in the state on major fronts like connectivity and infrastructure.
Prime Minister Modi said it was time for a change in Mizoram and urged upon the people to strengthen the hands of the BJP although there is speculation that the BJP might tie up with the MNF or other regional parties.
Prime minister Modi made it a point not to take names of any of the regional parties.
In a nuanced address, the PM refrained from issues that the BJP usually harps on during election rallies elsewhere in the country and stuck to the development pitch talking about roads, railways, flagship schemes of the NDA government at the centre and linking Mizoram to the neighboring countries as part of his government’s act east policy.
