Taking to microblogging site X (formerly Twitter), Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma wrote, “Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas filled with love and joy. As we approach the New Year, may it be a time of renewed hope, unity, and prosperity for our great nation. Together, let’s embrace the opportunities that lie ahead. “

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma said, “I take this opportunity to wish all the citizens of our state, on this joyous occasion , all the joy, peace and happiness that Christmas bring along with it.”

Christmas preparations have been going on in full-swing in the region with hardly any place left untouched by decorations. The streets have been decked up with festive lights and preparations have been made to celebrate the event in a grand way.

In Meghalaya, people have flooded the markets of Khyndailad, popularly known as Police Bazar, and Iewduh to shop for the festival. Christmas will likely be a low-key affair in violence-hit Manipur with the the people still recovering from the losses they suffered this year. In Mizoram, churches are filled to the brim as people are attending church services across the state.
