NIA places Assam on high alert

NIA has reveled that Al Qaeda and Tehreek-e-Taliban operatives are operating on the Pakistan-Afghan border

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has issued a high alert in five states, including Assam.

NIA has revealed about Al Qaeda and Tehreek-e-Taliban operatives operating on the Pakistan-Afghan border.

According to NIA sources, Tehreek-e-Taliban and Al Qaeda are working to instigate youth to join their cause in as many as five States-Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat and Assam.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has made another big revelation and informed that there is an increasing Rohingya movement through the state. Agents are charging as much as Rs 45,000 to transport the Rohingyas to other states of India through Assam.

The Assam CM further said that his government is looking to hand over one of the cases to the NIA as it is a serious matter.

CM also admitted that the Al Qaeda Indian Sub continent is still active in Assam despite busting of several of its modules.

Meanwhile, the entire issue turned political with minister Pijush Hazarika accusing the Congress and the AIUDF of backing such terror elements.
