Lok Sabha MP from Mizoram, C. Lalrosanga said that he has discussed the matter with CM and MNF party chief Zoramthanga

Ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) party in Mizoram has decided to support the Opposition’s no confidence motion, being discussed in the Lok Sabha, even as the party is an ally of the ruling BJP-led NDA at the Centre.

The lone Lok Sabha member from Mizoram C. Lalrosanga told over phone from Delhi on Wednesday that he will support the no trust move over the Centre and the Manipur government’s handling of the Manipur violence.

Lalrosanga said that he has discussed the issue with the party leadership including state Chief Minister and MNF chief Zoramthanga on Tuesday.

The Lok Sabha MP and lone Rajya Sabha member K. Vanlalvena have been trying to raise the Manipur ethnic-strife issue in both houses of the Parliament by submission of pleas for adjournment motions on a daily basis which were turned down by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha till date.

Disillusioned by the repeated refusal to raise the Manipur issue in the Parliament, the two MPs from Mizoram had even skipped NDA MP’s meeting in July.

State Information and Public Relations Minister Lalruatkima, who is also adviser of the MNF said that the party’s Lok Sabha member will support the Opposition’s no-trust vote in the Parliament.

Lalruatkima said, “As the people of Mizoram and the MNF stood by our kindred brothers and sisters in the neighbouring state in time of crisis, and extremely dissatisfied with the butter fingered handling of the ethnic violence, the party decided that our MP will support the no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha.”

Meanwhile, the state Congress youth workers on Wednesday gathered in front of the main gate of the Chief Minister’s office in Aizawl, demanding that the MNF Lok Sabha member support the no-confidence motion moved by the opposition I.N.D.I.A.
