In January 14 meeting, NPG representatives had agreed to implement the Council of Naga Cooperation and Relationship.

The Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) has reiterated its call for Naga Political Groups (NPGs) to unite, emphasizing the urgent need for reconciliation and cooperation.

In a recent meeting convened by the FNR, representatives from various Naga tribal organizations reaffirmed their collective commitment to strengthening the ongoing Naga reconciliation process and achieving lasting unity.

A key resolution from the meeting emphasised that NPGs must heed the voice of the people and work toward unity in the spirit of oneness.

The meeting also called for the immediate implementation of the January 14, 2025 Treatise, which was agreed upon by NPG representatives in a meeting facilitated by the FNR.

The FNR urged all Naga Political Groups and the Naga people to actively participate in the Council of Naga Cooperation and Relationship, warning that the public will hold accountable any group or organization that hinders the reconciliation process.

It may be recalled that in the January 14 meeting, NPG representatives had agreed to implement the Council of Naga Cooperation and Relationship as a working mechanism to foster unity and constructive dialogue.

The January 14, 2025 Treatise, issued by the NPG representatives, also reaffirmed their commitment to the 2009 Covenant of Reconciliation and vowed to honor the historical and political rights of the Naga people as enshrined in the Naga Memorandum to the Simon Commission of 1929, the Declaration of Naga Independence in 1947, and the Naga Voluntary Plebiscite of 1951.

While acknowledging past shortcomings in the pursuit of Naga aspirations, the representatives emphasised the importance of moving forward through honest dialogue and cooperation.

The FNR and tribal leaders have urged all Naga factions to set aside differences and work towards lasting unity, marking a crucial step in the ongoing reconciliation process.
