MPCC President Vincent H Pala Stresses Need for Clear Mandate in MDC Elections

With the amendments now complete, Congress has reaffirmed its priority of serving the welfare of the people over political affiliations.

Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Vincent H Pala has underlined the importance of a clear mandate in the upcoming MDC elections to enable effective policy decisions. Expressing confidence in the Congress party’s prospects, Pala highlighted its robust grassroots presence and strong connection with the people of Meghalaya.

Pala credited the dedication of Congress workers at the block level and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to fielding candidates with clean records. He emphasised that integrity and public trust remain central to the party’s agenda.

Speaking to Northeast Live, Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Vincent H Pala expressed confidence in Congress’s prospects in the upcoming MDC elections. He highlighted the party’s grassroots strength and the hard work of its block-level workers in preparing for the polls.

Pala emphasised the party’s commitment to fielding candidates with clean records, strong educational backgrounds, and an understanding of council matters. “We aim to give candidates who inspire trust and confidence among voters,” he said.

Addressing challenges posed by rival parties like the NPP, UDP, and VPP, Pala acknowledged a multi-cornered contest but reaffirmed Congress’s determination to secure a clear mandate. He criticised the NPP for its alleged misuse of resources and emphasised Congress’s role in safeguarding amendments to the Sixth Schedule, preventing adverse influences.

“We are a party for the people, and our history will show our responsibility in protecting Meghalaya’s interests,” Pala stated, confident of Congress’s success.

Acknowledging the multi-cornered nature of the elections, Pala noted the challenges posed by rival parties but expressed optimism about Congress’s ability to secure a leading position in most constituencies.

He also clarified Congress’s role in the District Council, stating it focused on safeguarding amendments to the Sixth Schedule and preventing negative influences on Meghalaya’s interests. With the amendments now complete, Congress has reaffirmed its priority of serving the welfare of the people over political affiliations.
