Mother-daughter dies in tragic Sikkim road accident

The daughter was a student of Kamrang College, Namchi.

In a tragic incident, one 22-years old girl and her mother died in a head-on collision between two vehicles in Sikkim’s Namchi district.

The accident occurred on the NH10 at Namchi View Point, 3rd Mile, around 7pm last evening.

The deceased have been identified as Anita Tamang (44) and Saloni Gurung (22). The daughter was a student of Kamrang College, Namchi.

Anita died on the spot while Saloni succumbed to her injuries during first aid at Namchi District Hospital.

On February 11, at least three people died and 20 were injured after a milk tanker rammed into three cars which were parked near a fair in Sikkim’s Ranipool. Several people gathered in the area got crushed under the vehicles as the force of the collision pushed them into the mela ground.
