The mortal remains of Satpal Rai, the Personal Security Officer (PSO) of Chief of Defence Staff, General late Bipin Rawat, who was among the 13 who died in the Coonoor chopper crash will arrive at his residence today.
The mortal remains will be taken from Baghdogra airport to Darjeeling. A pall of gloom has descended on his residence at Takdah village in Darjeeling.
It may be mentioned here that identification of the remaining 10 bodies of soldiers was completed on Saturday, following which the last rites of at least six soldiers were performed in their respective hometowns.

These include Wing Commander Prithvi Singh Chauhan, Squadron Leader Kuldeep Singh, Junior Warrant Officer Rana Pratap Das, Junior Warrant Officer Arakkal Pradeep, Lance Naik Vivek Kumar and Lance Naik B Sai Teja.
The Mi17 V5 Helicopter of the Indian Air Force (IAF) with CDS General Bipin Rawat including 13 others onboard crashed in Tamil Nadu’s Coonoor on December 8.
