Mizoram Polls 2023: Nagaland Min Temjen Imna Along drums up support for BJP

BJP, which has a only one MLA in the outgoing assembly, has fielded candidates in 23 seats
Campaigning has picked up momentum in the poll-bound Mizoram. Along with parties like- ruling Mizo National Front (MNF), Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), Zoram Nationalist Party (ZNP) and others, BJP too is making an extensive effort to attract voters in the predominantly Christian state.
Nagaland Tourism Minister and BJP leader, Temjen Imna Along on Tuesday drummed up support for state BJP spokesperson, F Lalremsangi, who is contesting the forthcoming election from Aizawl South-I assembly constituency.
Attending a public gathering in the constituency, Minister Along highlighted steps taken by the double-engine government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Stating that at a time when Mizoram is rapidly seeking progress and prosperity and is eager to harness the transformative power of a double-engine government under the visionary leadership of PM Modi, Minister Along has sought public votes for BJP.
The BJP leader urged public to extend their support to Lalremsangi and make her win in the upcoming elections scheduled on November 7, to achieve their collective dreams.
He urged the public to ensure that their votes matter and usher in a new phase of Mizoram’s progress and prosperity.

The dawn of progress awaits us all,” Minister along wrote on Twitter.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will also visit the poll-bound state today to drum up support for BJP.
The Union Defence Minister will address public meetings at Mamit in the western part of Mizoram bordering Bangladesh and Tripura, and Siaha in the south.
Speaker of the outgoing state assembly, Lalrinliana Sailo and ex-excise minister Dr K Beichhua are contesting on BJP tickets from Mamit and Siaha respectively.
A total of 174 candidates, including 16 women, have filed their nominations, according to the Chief Electoral Officer of Mizoram.
While, MNF, the opposition Congress, and ZPM have fielded candidates in all 40 seats, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is contesting in 4 constituencies, BJP, which has
only one MLA in the outgoing assembly, has fielded candidates in 23 seats.
A total of 27 Independent candidates are also in the fray.
The election for 40-member Mizoram Legislative Assembly will be held on November 7 and the counting of votes will take place on December 3.
