Mizoram Polls 2023: BJP releases manifesto ‘Inclusive Mizoram: Vision Document 2023’

BJP national president JP Nadda on Friday released the party’s manifesto ‘Inclusive Mizoram: Vision Document 2023’ in poll bound Mizoram.
The manifesto has touched upon several key issues including the drugs menace, border issue with Assam, dealing with corruption, employment generation, developing infrastructure, 33% reservation in all government jobs for women and launching the Mizoram Olympic Mission to establish Mizoram as a leading sporting state, besides others.
The BJP Vision Document said that if the party comes to power it will collaborate with the Centre and Assam Government to resolve the long standing border dispute between Mizoram and Assam, safeguarding the rights of Mizoram’s residents.
Regarding corruption, the BJP has made a slew of big promises which include-
Establishment of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe all irregularities and corruption in implementing the Socio Economic Development Program (SEDP).
Releasing a White Paper on fiscal mismanagement that occurred during the current administration (MNF regime)
Launching of a dedicated Anti-Corruption Helpline under the direct command of the Chief Minister
Establishment of additional police stations and outposts in each district

The party has also promised to launch the Operation Drug-Free Mizoram to curb drug addiction amongst the youths across the state.
In a big announcement regarding women empowerment, the BJP has stated that it will introduce 33% reservation in all government jobs for women. Besides, the Mizoram Hmeichhiate Battalion, the state’s first all-women police battalion would be established, the BJP Vision Document mentions.
Regarding education and youth, the BJP said that it will establish the Mizoram Skill Development University to train at least 10,000 youths and make them job ready for new age industries such as Drone technology, Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Robotics among others.
In terms of sports, the BJP has assured that it will establish the Mizoram Sports Academy, providing fully-funded scholarships for aspiring athletes with a strong emphasis on football, wrestling, hockey and badminton.

In the health sector, the BJP has assured that if voted to power, the government will collaborate with the Centre to upgrade Zoram Medical College as Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS). Apart from this, the party has highlighted that it would upgrade all the district hospitals in the state as Super Speciality Hospitals with state-of-the-art infrastructure.
To ensure that Mizoram has a robust infrastructure, the BJP has promised 24X7 electricity supply to all villages, Rs 3,000 crore to upgrade roads, Rs 950 crore for all round development of all villages besides others.
As many as 517 villages of Mizoram have been electrified. A total of four power projects have been sanctioned as well. For the Aizawl smart city project, Rs 367 crore has been sanctioned as well. 1.1 lakh people have been given tap water connection, Nadda said.
