Harping on the development agenda and welfare of all, S Jaishankar listed out 10 core aspects of the Vision Document.
The BJP in Mizoram has released it’s manifesto for the upcoming elections for the lone Lok Sabha seat in the state.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar released the party’s Vision Document that incorporates several sectors including health, education, welfare of farmers, employment generation besides others.
Harping on the development agenda and welfare of all, S Jaishankar listed out 10 core aspects of the Vision Document.
The External Affairs Minister stated,
“1. Our first priority is health. We are speaking about intensifying the Ayushmann Bharat program, that we have the Jan Ausadhi Kendras, which gives access to very low cost medicines, that in every block there should be one Jan Ausadhi Kendra. The Zoram Medical College should be upgraded and the District Hospitals in Mizoram should all be improved and their services made better.
- Second priority is education. What we are proposing in the vision is how to revamp schools, to provide free books, bags and raincoats to students and to establish a central university as well as more engineering colleges in the state. We believe that it is good education which will give the youths of the state the skills and talents to explore oppurtunities.
- The third priority is to create, to bring to Mizoram, to develop a strong startup culture with stronger skills. Therefore we propose to set up a state level scheme for skills and startups and training in special new age technologies like drones which offer many other possibilities.
- Like any other state, the welfare of farmers here is also important, so that is priority here as well. We would like to extend Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) to 100% percent of the farmers, to look at developing cold storage facilities, to create desks for organic farming certifications, to expand the PM Samriddhi Kendra which gives seeds and fertilizers to farmers and also to create a larger market access.
- Another issue which we have highlighted in the Vision Document is One District, One Product. It has been a very successful program to promote awareness within the country itself, of the state and every district of India. it will lead people to recognize products and certainly we hope ODOP products from Mizoram would grow much more across the country.
- We have been trying to create an access to Myanmar to the port of Sittwe through a road from Mizoram which is having some problems right now, but certainly as we look after elections this will be one of our priorities to see the road is complete as soon as possible.
- We would also like to see more border haats with both Myanmar and even Bangladesh.
- Tourism today is a very big priority. During G20, one of the Business 20 events happened here. So we seek tourism potential. I think there is an important archaeological site here in Vangchhia, we feel that it has potential to attract more tourists
- We are pushing for greater investment in sports facilities. People in this state have a very strong record of contributing at national level to our skills and talents
- Finally we are looking at more and more women in Mizoram. We intend to establish an air hostess training centre in Aizawl where many young women look for a career in airlines sector. Under Modi ji we have the fastest expansion of airlines in the entire world today. That itself will be a new sector of employment and oppurtunity.
These are some of the most important ideas that we have put forward in our Vision Document.”

S Jaishankar said that the BJP’s Vision Document if implemented will go a long way in realising the dream of a developed and progressive Mizoram.
“I want to tell You that the Vision Document does for the state, what Modi Ji’s vision is for the entire country.
What we want to do through the Vision Document is to lay out a very specific plan so that when voters are getting ready to press the button, we want them to know why they are pressing the button, why they have pressed the button of the Lotus and this is the vision for which they will be voting for.
When that vision will be implemented, it will not only actually lead to development in the state, but it will also create a foundation for people in the state to explore oppurtunities outside the state and even outside the country,” S Jaishankar said.
