Mentally Ill Person Kills 3, Injures 6 at Seppa District Hospital, Arunachal

The Officier-in-Charge of East Kameng Police Station too was attacked and injured.

In a horrific incident, a mentally ill person attacked patients and others including a police officer, with a daw (machete) at the Seppa District Hospital in East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh killing two persons on the spot and injuring seven.


One of the injured succumbed to his injuries, taking the death toll in the attack to three.
Officer-in-charge of East Kameng police station, M Geyi of Seppa, who had rushed to the hospital after hearing about the incident, was attacked too and injured.


East Kameng SP, Kamdam Sikhom, said the mentally ill person started attacking patients and others randomly at the hospital.


The SP stated all victims have been referred to Itanagar for further treatment. The ill man too sustained injuries and is now in police custody.
