Meghalaya’s Rachel Rimeika Jyrwa crowned Miss Hornbill International 2023

Mossang Tanusa Gogoi from Arunachal Pradesh has been announced as the 1st runner-up and the 2nd runner-up is Vezotolu Shijoh from Nagaland

Rachel Rimeika Jyrwa from Meghalaya has won the prestigious Miss Hornbill International 2023 title at the ongoing Hornbill Festival in Nagaland.

The grand finale of the Miss Hornbill International 2023 held on December 2. A total of 14 contestants from-Assam, Tripura, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Nepal, and Meghalaya competed for the crown.

While Rachel Rimeika Jyrwa was selected as the winner of Miss Hornbill International 2023, Mossang Tanusa Gogoi from Arunachal Pradesh has been announced as the 1st runner-up and the 2nd runner-up is Vezotolu Shijoh from Nagaland.

Rachel Rimeika Jyrwa has also won the titles of Miss Beautiful Smile and Best Evening Gown a the event.

She took home a cash reward of Rs 2,00,000 lakhs for her amazing performance throughout the event, and Rs 30,000 for her outstanding performance in various subtitles.

Rachel will now sign a one-year contract with Vogue Nagaland.

Rachel hails from Mawlai, Shillong. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Synod College, Shillong.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Pema Khandu congratulated Rachel Rimeika Jyrwa, Mossang Tanusa Gogoi and Vezotolu Shijoh on their achievements.

The 24th edition of the Hornbill Festival is underway at the Naga Heritage Village of Kisama in Kohima district. The 10-day festival began on December 1 and will conclude on December 10.
