Meghalaya MLA Adelbert Nongrum and Family Escape Unhurt in Multi-Vehicle Crash Near Umiam

The Meghalaya MLA Adelbert Nongrum’s vehicle sustained only minor damage and remained operational after the crash.

North Shillong MLA Adelbert Nongrum and his family narrowly escaped harm on Sunday evening after their vehicle was hit in a multi-car collision near Orchid Lake Resort in Umiam.

The accident took place around 7 PM when a Maruti S-Presso, driven by Ksankupar Jyrwa, allegedly lost control of the vehicle. The S-Presso first rammed into a Maruti 800 and then crashed into a Scorpio belonging to MLA Nongrum.

At the time of the incident, the legislator was travelling with his wife and children to Umsning. Thankfully, no one suffered any injuries in the accident.

The MLA’s vehicle sustained only minor damage and remained operational after the crash. Police at Umiam Police Station have registered a case and begun an investigation into the incident.

Authorities are currently examining the circumstances that led to the loss of control and subsequent collisions.
