Meghalaya Govt enhances grant-in-aid for 710 government pre-primary schools

Good news for the government pre-primary school teachers of Meghalaya. The State Government has decided to enhance the grant-in-aid to teachers teaching in pre-primary level in the state by Rs 18,000 per month. This was announced by Government spokesperson and cabinet minister Paul Lyngdoh today.

The decision has been taken in the second cabinet meeting of the MDA 2.0 government chaired by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma.

Making the announcement, Lyngdoh said that the enhancement of grant-in-aid for pre-primary schools has been a long pending grievances of pre-primary school teachers.

CM Conrad Sangma also took to Twitter and wrote, “Cabinet has approved the enhancement of Grant-in-aid for 710 Pre-Primary Schools. The grant-in-aid has been enhanced from ₹12,000 to ₹18, 000 for all teachers in Pre Primary School level.”

Previously, the grant-in-aid for these teachers was Rs 12,000 per month.

The last enhancement made was in 2018.

A total k of 710 pre-primary school are there in the state.
