Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma Unveils Foundation for Rs 175 Cr Ropeway Project at Shillong Peak

The ropeway will provide a scenic aerial connection between Shillong Peak and Lawsohtun, attracting both tourists and locals alike.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma unveils the foundation stone for the Shillong Ropeway Project at Shillong Peak today.
The state’s first passenger ropeway is estimated to cost Rs 175 crores and aims to offer stunning panoramic views of Shillong city.
The foundation for the ropeway was first laid by President Droupadi Murmu in January, marking the beginning of what is expected to be Meghalaya’s largest tourism initiative.
The ropeway will provide a scenic aerial connection between Shillong Peak and Lawsohtun, attracting both tourists and locals alike.
As part of the project’s development, Chief Minister Sangma also handed over a second installment of Rs 1.5 crore to the Riat Laban Dorbar Pyllun.
The project is expected to significantly enhance tourism in the region, offering a unique and memorable experience to visitors.
