Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma Meets Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Seeks Help in Releasing 2023-24 MNREGA Wages

The meeting underscored the state government’s commitment to ensuring effective rural development and timely support for MGNREGA workers.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma met Union Minister for Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and discussed challenges in implementing MGNREGA in Meghalaya.

Sangma sought the Union Minister’s intervention for the release of pending wages for FY 2023-24, streamlining the NMMS app for remote areas, and clearing material liabilities. Highlighting grassroots concerns, he emphasised the need for smoother execution of community-led interventions.

CM Sangma called on the Union Minister at his official residence in New Delhi yesterday. Sharing the photos of the meeting on social media, CM Sagma said that he informed Chouhan of the issues faced by people in Meghalaya.

The meeting underscored the state government’s commitment to ensuring effective rural development and timely support for MGNREGA workers.
